Voluntary statement about slavery and human trafficking

We are committed to improving our practices to combat modern slavery in our business by taking steps, as far as we are able, to ensure that our supply chains are free from slavery and human trafficking. This statement sets out the steps we have taken and are taking to understand potential modern slavery risks within our business structure and supply chain, as well as the steps taken to eradicate these risks.
Although we are not required to make a modern slavery statement under section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we are making this voluntary statement to show our commitment to ethical trading principles and to set out the steps we are taking to identify risks and tackle modern slavery and human trafficking in our business and in our supply chains.

Our business

We are an independent alternative fund finance provider, dedicated to providing general partners and the funds they manage with seamless, flexible, and cost-effective financing solutions. With a diverse capital base from global institutional investors, we aim to enhance the fund financing market by adding capacity and addressing the limitations of the current market.
NLC’s technology-enabled processes are geared toward optimizing the borrower and investor experience, reducing the time and effort needed to access and manage fund finance facilities.
NLC is a UK-based partnership, providing arrangement and advisory services to businesses in the United Kingdom, Luxembourg, Ireland, Delaware and the Cayman Islands.

Our supply chains

We procure a range of goods and services from a variety of suppliers. Most of our material procurement is focussed on services, including:

  • Introducers and placing agents
  • Fund managers and administrators
  • Accounting servicing providers
  • IT services providers
  • Legal and compliance services providers

Our policies on slavery and human trafficking

NLC is committed to acting ethically and with integrity in all our business dealings and relationships and to implementing and enforcing effective systems and controls to ensure modern slavery is not taking place anywhere in our own business or in any of our supply chains.

We will only work with companies which are committed to: respecting the human rights of their workers; maintaining safe and healthy working conditions for their employees and contractors; treating their employees fairly; upholding the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining; and respecting the health, safety, and wellbeing of those impacted by their business activities. We choose suppliers that commit to complying with applicable laws and regulations.

Due diligence processes for slavery and human trafficking

We adopt a risk-based approach to the assessment of our business and supply chain, which involves taking geographical, industry and market factors into account in order to identify categories of supply that may present a higher risk of modern slavery being present.

This voluntary statement was approved by the Management Committee of NLC Capital Partners on 24 September 2024 and has been signed by a Founding Partner.
